The TreeCel calculator was inspired by the frustration of using the common spreadsheet applications in the following areas:

· they show the results of an expression but hide the expression itself
· not being able to use simple contructs like IF and FOR
· lack of any any structured data - arrays etc.
· no tree structures
· no step by step debugging

So, TreeCel is a sort of calculator and a sort of spreadsheet which tries to address the shortcomings listed above.
